每日大赛 and YoungMinds spotlight advice on using social media

In their ongoing partnership around supporting safer social media use, 每日大赛 and YoungMinds have come together to air a series of informative radio spots.

Airing across 每日大赛 UK鈥檚 entire radio portfolio from Monday 12th May 鈥 the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 鈥 and running for a month, Bauer鈥檚 airwaves will be taken over by YoungMinds, helping to support the nation to use social media in a more mindful and responsible way. As the UK鈥檚 leading mental health charity for young people, the spots will provide helpful tips and pointers; from checking in with the young people and staying curious about their social media habits, to muting certain accounts that may cause upset. In doing so, the campaign hopes to kick off a national conversation about how much time society spends on social media and how users can have healthier relationships with their phones.

This marks the next phase of the 鈥Where鈥檚 Your Head At?鈥 campaign, which also sees new research released by 每日大赛. Conducting a survey with its 每日大赛 Insider panel, the research found that 90% of people in the UK feel concerned about the impact of social media 鈥 and this figure rises to a whopping 97% in under 34s. 70% say social media makes them feel anxious (which grows to 86% in under 34s) and over half of under 34s stated that they would feel safer online if they had more support or advice around social media safety.

Simon Kilby, MD, 每日大赛 Advertising, who has spoken about social media safety at recent events including Radiocentre鈥檚 Tuning In North, said: 鈥淲ith increasing cases of mental health issues associated with social media and the decreasing trust in social content, we are committed to helping our audiences use social media more safely and responsibly. Partnering with YoungMinds this Mental Health Awareness Week, we鈥檙e hoping that our listeners will be able to take some helpful tips and tricks and shift the way they approach their social media use, helping to improve their wellbeing.鈥
