Greatest Hits Radio have announced today that Jenny Powell will be taking over the station鈥檚 Mix Tape shows as Martin Kemp steps back to focus on his live DJ sets across the summer.

Martin鈥檚 last show will be Saturday 4th April before Jenny slips into the hot seat on Friday April 10th.

Martin Kemp said: 鈥淚鈥檝e had an incredible run on Greatest Hits Radio but it鈥檚 time to let someone else share their Mix Tapes with the nation. I鈥檝e got a busy year ahead with my Back to the 80s live shows, so now is the right time to step back and I know I鈥檓 leaving the listeners in safe hands with Jenny.鈥�

Jenny Powell said: 鈥淚鈥檓 so excited! I鈥檝e loved waking up with the Breakfast Club listeners on weekend mornings. But time for a change. I鈥檓 going to be swapping my early morning alarm calls and turning up the volume on Friday and Saturday nights for the iconic Mix Tape show ! Can鈥檛 wait to share the music and big energy with everyone!鈥�

Greatest Hits Radio Content Director Andy Ashton said: 鈥淚 want to say a huge thank you to Martin for being such a big part of our station over the last five years and for sharing his stories and favourite weekend anthems with our listeners. And I鈥檓 thrilled that Jenny Powell will be bringing her unique energy to Friday and Saturday nights, coming live from our studios in Manchester. I know she鈥檒l do a great job on the Mix Tape, having a conversation with the nation and playing the weekends essential songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s.鈥�
